Risk Indicator Verification

How Verification Works

Each current published Risk Indicator for an active provider carries a stored SHA-256 hash, reported at /api/verify/{scoreId}: without a Bitcoin proof it reports LOCAL_ONLY, and a record without a stored hash reports NO_RECORD. Bitcoin anchoring applies from the 2026-Q3 certification period onward; as at 11 October 2026, no published Risk Indicator is anchored. Correction, 13 October 2026: this statement previously referred to every published Risk Indicator; it applies to each current published Risk Indicator for an active provider.

  1. Where a Risk Indicator is published through the certification pipeline, ACI computes a SHA-256 hash of it using canonical JSON serialisation.
  2. Where a hash exists it is stored, and it may additionally be anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps.
  3. This tool reports the stored hash and the anchoring state of the Risk Indicator. Risk Indicators published without a hash report no cryptographic record.
  4. Where a Bitcoin anchor is confirmed, the verify endpoint checks its OpenTimestamps proof against the stored hash, and reports the Risk Indicator as anchored only when the proof verifies.
